DIY GIFT BASKET

ZEE PERFECT DIY (DO-IT-YOURSELF) GIFT basket!

Gift baskets have always been one of my most favorite things to create!

This birthday gift basket is extra special because it was made for someone special in my life, who recently turned 21. This gift basket was Friends themed, because we gifted her tickets to the Friends Experience in NYC and I thought that This would be the perfect way to showcase thAT gift FOR HER!

Items you will need:

1.     basket

Zee: I purchased this basket from my favorite store: Home Goods (i found it in the clearance section!) but any basket will work perfectly.

2.     Shredded paper, stickers, letters, wooden sticks, glue gun and glue sticks

zee: I was able to find the shredded paper in a gold color (which matched perfectly To the gold glitter on the basket), NYC stickers, letters, wooden sticks, a glue gun and glue sticks at Michael’s! Savings tip: always google coupons, because they usually offer 20% off!

EXTRA: I ALSO purchaseD A BASKET GIFT bag, BLACK ribbon, and A BLACK gift bow FOR THE END.

3.     Theme Cutouts

Zee: I found these FRIENDS theme cutouts on Amazon.

Optional items:

4.     Birthday Card

Zee: I purchased this 21st birthday Champagne card to add a little extra pizzazz!

5.     Mini Alcohol BottleS

Zee: Mini alcohol airplane bottles make a perfect additional decoration for any gift basket, but especially for a 21st birthday ONE!

6. MATCHING THEME ITEMS

ZEE: I PURCHASED A KEYCHAIN, A WINE CUP, AND A TUMBLER TO TOP IT All OFF! UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO WEATHER DELAYS THE CUPS DIDN’T COME IN ON TIME, BUT I WILL definitely GIFT THEM to her AT A LATER TIME.

The good news is, after you have gathered up all of the materials that you will need to create your gift basket, the hardest part is now over! The easiest and best part of this whole DIY gift basket is the actual making of it and it takes less than an hour!

How to make the diy gift basket:

1.     Use the glue gun and glue sticks to stick on the stickers, theme cutouts, and letters to the front of the basket! I also added additional theme cutouts to the sides and back of the basket, too!

2.     Add the shredded paper inside the basket.

3.     Use the glue gun and glue sticks to stick the theme cutouts, birthday card, and mini alcohol airplane bottles to the wooden sticks.

4.     Add the newly glued theme cutouts, birthday card, and mini alcohol airplane bottle wooden sticks inside the shredded paper in different placements, until you are pleased with the aesthetic of the gift basket.

5.     HAVE FUN! This is supposed to be messy and PLAYFUL, so let your inner child COME out to play!

Pro tiP: you can cut the wooden sticks to have different lengths, For example: I cut the wooden sticks for the mini alcohol airplane bottles, because the mini bottles were too heavy to be up as high as the theme cutouts.

TA-DA! YOU CAN WRAP THE GIFT BASKET WITH THE GIFT BAG, USE THE RIBBON TO TIE IT, AND ADD THE BOW AS THE LAST TOUCH. Now You are officially done with your DIY gift basket!
